January Sale

This past week we had our first sale! During my airline days, when I had long layovers in London I used to shop the Harrods Sale. For a long time now I’ve thought it would be nifty to do such a blow-out sale in my own store. Well, it finally happened and it was fun. Our customers seemed to enjoy stocking up on reading material for the winter days ahead. Because of the situation in Haiti, we decided to donate 10% of the 3 day sale’s profits to Hands-On Disaster Response. This is a local charity based out of Carlisle, MA where one of our customers volunteers. If you’re interested, I was told they may be looking for volunteers in Haiti after the situation becomes more settled.
Holidays 2009

Over the holidays we were fortunate to have our store professionally decorated by Denise Pierce. It was exciting to see the reaction customers had when they walked into the store and viewed the magic she had created. They, like me, were blown away by her gorgeous wreaths and amazing attention to detail. Thank you Denise for all your good work!
Giving Back

As many of you know, my Dad passed away a year ago this fall. He was an Army veteran who served during World War II. He saw action at both Normandy Beach on D-Day and in the Battle of the Bulge. My Mom was also in the military during this time serving as a “Lady Marine.” Therefore, it was good to honor them both this Veterans Day by donating 10% of the day’s store profits to Veteran Homestead out of Fitchburg, MA. They provide a hospice for veterans and other wonderful facilities. Please consider donating to this organization.
